The Preclinical Neuroscience and Behavioral Studies Laboratory at the National Center for Addiction Studies is equipped with:
- Forced Swimming Test (FST): To assess depression levels.
- Morris Water Maze (MWM): To evaluate spatial memory.
- Passive Avoidance Learning Test: To assess long-term memory.
- Conditioned Place Preference (CPP) Maze: To study conditioning effects.
- Elevated Plus Maze (EPM): To measure anxiety levels.
- Hot Plate Test: To evaluate pain sensitivity.
- Open Field Test (OFT): To assess locomotor activity.
- Social Interaction Test: To evaluate social behaviors.
- Treadmill: To induce and measure locomotor activity.
- Stereotaxic Surgery Apparatus: For precise brain surgeries and drug injections into addiction-related brain regions.
