The Iranian National Center for Addiction Studies (INCAS) is considered as the main body of research in addiction in Iran and is affiliated to the Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Due to outstanding activities of INCAS and its high contribution in international projects, the center was designated as a WHO collaborating center (INCAS-WHO CC) in 2013. The main objectives of the INCAS-WHO CC are:
- Promote the regional and international stance of the INCAS Knowledge Hub in training, research and consultancy
- Establish harm reduction policies, especially opioid substitution treatment in the countries of the region
- Provide “best-practice” experiences in harm reduction for countries of the region
The INCAS-WHO CC is directed by Dr. Afarin Rahimi-Movaghar with contribution from other faculty members of INCAS.
