Dr. Jaleh Gholami

Jaleh Gholami was born in Tehran, Iran and graduated from faculty of medicine at Iran University of Medical Sciences in 2001. She received a master of public health (2008) and a PhD degree in Epidemiology (2014) from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Now, she is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology in the Iranian National Center for Addiction Studies (INCAS). Her research interest is evaluation trends of drug use and related factors by conducting systematic reviews, longitudinal studies, repeated surveys, and ecologic studies. She has also experience in research knowledge translation

Dr.Mohammad Salehi

I was born 1966 in Tehran, graduated associate Degree from radiology 1987 & graduated from medicine in 1997 at Zahedan Medical University. I am working in my private clinic from 1997 until 2001.  Technical Assistant in day & night clinic on Shahre-Ray from 2001 until 2007. I was established my addiction treatment from 2005 up to now & accepted on 2016  Ph.D. in Addiction studies at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), Tehran, Iran. My interests in the fields: Analysis & Design of medical information & research systems, Clinical research in addiction treatment.

Dr. Kamyar Ghani

I was born in Tehran in 1969. I received my undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology from Allameh Tabatabai University in 1992. I obtained a Masters Degree in General Psychology from Islamic Azad University - Science and Research Branch, Tehran In 2007. I graduated from (MPH) Master of Public Health with tendency in Preventing Addiction and Social Injury at Tehran University School of Health in 2016. In 2013, I entered in the Ph.D. course in Addiction Studies at the School of Advanced Technologies in Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and currently doing thesis work in Iranian national center for addiction studies (INCAS). At the same time, I work with specialized centers in psychology and addiction. My main interests are topics related to preventive activities in adolescents and young people, as well as types of behavioral addictions and their treatment.

Alireza Bayat

Alireza Bayat graduated from the Iran University of Medical Sciences in 2010 where he earned a bachelor’s degree in public health. Bayat began his career working in public health at the Chamran Hospital. Then he moved to the Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Research Center. His work was responsible to improve research and provide sexual and reproductive health to people with Spinal cord injury. Currently, He is co-founder and executive director of the RASESH sexual health group which is community base organization. Furthermore, Alireza is collaborating with the sexual health unit in the Iranian National Center for Addiction Studies, counseling, educator, and researcher, as well as coordinating the delivery of sexual health services for vulnerable groups. He has developed and implemented a community-based, skill-building approach to reduce sexual risk behaviors for men and women with substance use disorders, youth, adolescents, and sexual minorities. Mahdiyeh Sadat Haji Seyedjavadi

I am Mahdiyeh Sadat Haji Seyedjavadi, born in 1989, and I hold a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. My thesis, titled "Synthesis of Flavonoid Derivatives with Sulfatase Enzyme Inhibition for Cancer Treatment," was successfully completed and defended. Since 2018, I have been working at the Faculty of Pharmacy, tehran University of medical sciences, and since 2020, at the Iranian  National Center for Addiction Studies under the supervision of Dr. Abdi. I have undergone training in instrumental analysis and gained experience with various analytical instruments, including IR, GC, HPLC, UV, and GC-MS. Through participation in and execution of related projects, I have become proficient in drug analysis. Currently, I work as a Laboratory assistant and Researcher at the Iranian National Center for Addiction Studies, where I focus on research projects in the Toxicology Laboratory, including the implementation of the ICE (International Collaborative Exercises) program under the supervision of UNODC. Additionally, I am involved in research projects on the synthesis and identification of unknown narcotic substances, as well as projects in the Genetics Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Zarindast.

 

Marziyeh Hamzehzhdeh

Marziyeh Hamzehzadeh was born in Sarab in 1989. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Shahid Beheshti and Allameh Tabatabayi, Iran, in 2010 and 2014, respectively. Currently, she is working in the field of Behavioural Addiction, especially Internet Gaming Disorder.now she is PhD candidate in Tehran University of medical sciences and her PhD thesis subject is “ a brain computer interface for arousal modulation in gaming disorder”

Maryam Ardeshir

Maryam Ardeshir obtained her MD-MPH degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2021. She became highly interested in psychiatry and mental health during her years of study. Since 2021, she has worked as a researcher with the Epidemiology department at the Iranian National Center for Addiction Studies (INCAS), where she has been involved in clinical and epidemiological studies, such as the PERSIAN Youth Cohort project. Her main research interests include epidemiologic studies on mental health, psychiatric .disorders, and substance use disorder

Habib Yousefi

Habib Yousefi, Master of Psychology, volunteer member (8 years). Yousefi, after completing his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, changed his major due to his great interest in psychology and completed his master's degree in clinical psychology. In 2016, with the help of Dr. Merqati Khoei as a supervisor, he prepared his thesis with the title "Prediction of Interpersonal Communication Skills of Married Students Based on their sexual self-concept and Demographic Characteristics". After that, he received supervision from Dr. Merqati Khoei and continued to work as an assistant, researcher and therapist in the sexual area. During his years of activity, he has provided extensive services, especially for addicts and sexual minorities involved in sexual problems. One of his research interests is sexual addiction, and he has published articles in this field in prestigious international journals.

 

 

Arshiya Sangchooli

I completed my MD at the School of Medicine at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2021. I grew interested in psychiatry and addictive disorders during my psychiatry internship, and since 2017 I have worked as a researcher with the INCAS Neurocognitive Lab, Behavioral Addictions, and Epidemiology and Public Health research groups. My research interests include the neuroscientific underpinnings, public health aspects and psychometric assessment of addictive disorders, policy making and intervention for these disorders, and the meta-science of addiction medicine.

Parnian Rafei

Parnian Rafei has been graduated with her BSc. and MSc. degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tehran, Iran. She is keen on investigating the neurocognitive aspects of substance use disorders with a focus on cannabinoids and future-oriented cognition using neuroimaging techniques such as fMRI. Parnian joined the lab in early 2021 and is also serving as the executive secretary and research assistant for the Neuroscience Interest Group of the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM-NIG) since January 2020. She also played a key role in developing and piloting a novel cognitive intervention titled “Cue-induced Retrieval and Reconsolidation with Episodic Foresight” (CIREF) for addiction treatment.

Interests: Neural underpinnings of addictive behaviors, fMRI, future-oriented cognition, memory reconsolidation, value-based decision making, cognitive interventions

Mahsa Mohebian

Mahsa Mohebian was born in Kermanshah, Iran in 1996 and graduated with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from a reputable university in (2021). For the past two years, she has been working as a Researcher and Research Assistant at the Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences. She has a history of managing and implementing two Cross-cultural projects. During her tenure at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, Ms. Mohebian has held a course exploring the "Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Society, Mind, Behavior, and Psychological Satisfaction." This specialized course delves into the multifaceted implications of artificial intelligence from the perspective of clinical psychology, addressing its influence on human cognition, behavior, and overall well-being. In addition to her core academic curriculum, Ms. Mohebian has completed a series of specialized, scientific, and practical courses in the field of Neuroscience. These include training in Neurofeedback, Biofeedback, tDCS (Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation), qEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalography), and Peak Performance techniques utilizing Neurofeedback and qEEG. These courses were conducted under the supervision of distinguished Iranian and international professors. Furthermore, Ms. Mohebian has participated in a variety of specialized psychotherapy courses, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Therapist Training, and Internship programs. These courses were accredited by the Psychology and Counseling Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Additionally, she has completed a Methadone Maintenance Treatment course licensed by the Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

Ms. Mohebian's primary research interests lie in the fields of Addiction, Behavioral Addiction, Neuroscience, and Cross-Cultural Studies. Leveraging her expertise, she is currently collaborating with the Clinic of the Iranian National Center for Addiction Studies, where she contributes to the work of the Behavioral Addiction Clinic.
